How can I “self repair” a somewhat HUGE rip in my outdoor patio awning?

Awning is made of heavy fabric.
Rip is probably 12-14 inches long.
It’s a “clean cut”, so thought maybe some sort of heavy glue.?

Thank you in advance for your help!:)

See if you can get a swatch of fabric from an upholstery shop (or an awning shop if there’s one in your area) that matches. Sear the edges to seal them, then either sew it on or use heavy-duty fabric glue.

Of course, duct tape is always an option if the aesthetics don’t bother you.
