If you are thinking of buy a Roll Up Awning there are a couple of things to consider before you invest your hard earned cash. These type of Awnings are referred to as Roll Out, Roll Up or Retractable Awnings to make sure when doing your search, you look a all of those options before you buy.

Here are a couple of items to consider before you buy your Roll Up Awning, I know because I used to have one at my restaurant and I learned a couple of things.

First make sure you get good heavy canvas material if you want it to last. If you buy cheap material it won’t be long before you have to replace it.

Second, the retractable awnings rely on a mechanical system in order to pull or push the awning up and down and back and forth. This retractable system will need to be made out of strong aluminum or steel if you want it to last forever.

Last, make sure the awning doesn’t hang to low so no one will hit their head. This is probably the most important step because if you get your awning measurements wrong you could be looking at having to reorder which might cost you some money.
